I’ve just done another engine dj import and it’s missed a load of playlists again, had I exported this to my engineDJ it would have again totally destroyed my library and missed a load of tracks, these are normal playlists it’s missing
Party Stuff>Party Music> missing playlists here
Loads missing under the root party stuff folder too
Just tried importing with missing playlists, it finds them but also finds a load more old ones that dont exist anymore, go back to a normal import and they are all still missing
The database says those missing playlists are not persisted, which (I think) indicates they have been deleted in Engine.
The “missing playlists” option on the import screen ignores that and imports them anyway.
You said your tracks were all on the E: drive? Can you also upload the database found there?
OK, so thats interesting, the database on the E:\ drive was over 2GB, the one in C:\ was only 48K, so this suggests lexicon is importing the version from C: and not the version from E: but importing from E: isnt an option, what makes it more confusing is it seems to have some playlists in E:\ but not C:\ when all my files are on E:\
Yeah so the same playlists are not marked as deleted in the E: database. So there is something that makes Engine decide to keep the playlists anyway even if they are marked deleted in C: database… That part I haven’t figured out yet
weird thing is those playlists were never in C, so “Born in the 60’s” was just created by dragging the folder from E:\ straight in to the Party Music “playlist/folder” it was never in the C:\ database, hmmmmm I wonder if I create the playlist first then drag MP3’s it does something different to just dragging a folder in and let it create the playlist from the folder
But I’ve made a change that should help in this situation. It will be in the next beta update, in a few days. You’ll see it on Discord in #beta-changelog
Ok so little experiment done, if I create the playlist first then drag files in to it…it’s there, it imports fine, if I just drag the folder and let engine create the playlist, it’s there in engine but doesn’t import, so yeah it looks like a playlist creation issue
