Bulk edit file names

I have created a bunch of stem files from tracks within the library and wanting to follow the find lost tracks guide (by deleting/moving the original files) to replace the existing tracks with these new stem versions with a different extension.
for example:
orig track: my track.wav
new stem track: my track.stem.m4a

The issue I have is this guide assumes it is just the extension that is changing (ie .wav to .m4a) where in reality it is .wav to stem.m4a

Is there a way to bulk edit the file name and remove the ‘.stem’ part from the file name which would enable the find lost tracks process to work? I couldn’t find a recipe that worked on the file path itself.

I don’t think there is a way to do that. You can use the recipe to change extension but it won’t remove the .stem part.

You’d have to use an external program to bulk change the filenames and then relocate in Lexicon to the m4a files.
