I use Traktor Pro 4 and I’m DJing this weekend on someone else’s laptop (b2b). In the past, I’ve exported via Traktor the faffy way (saving as a nml playlist to a laptop desktop folder, then copying over to a USB drive, but this doesn’t generally preserve metadata / cue point / grids).
Can I export directly to USB from Lexicon, with all my grids and cues intact?
Do you mean specifically for Traktor? There isn’t a built in function for that but you could do it by moving tracks to a USB, then relocating in Lexicon before creating the NML file. Then restore a backup so you’re back to the normal state. However, problem with NMLs like that will always be that they need the right drive letter/name on the other computer so you have to look after that.
ooh, good idea. Yes, specifically for Traktor, but I think this is a decent workaround. Thanks!
also it’s more awkward because I use Windows and my b2b pal has a macbook aaaargh
Yeah that is annoying, especially for NMLs… You can do a find-replace in the NML with the right volume name but it’s tricky because the naming is slightly different
not to fret, we manage fine without cuepoints etc, and take it in turns with our laptops, so it all evens out
