CDJ friendly export to rekordbox by splitting playlists that contain more than 1000 tracks

What is the feature or ability you would like to have?

I get a warning when trying to export to usb sticks when some of my playlist cross the 1000 limit.

Will it be possible to have an option in the library Sync that will split playlists that contain more than 1000 tracks during export to rekordbox dj. One can define even split or split at track 999.

Then the resulting playlist could have an annotation eg say I name it CLUB-HIPHOP the result will be a Folder with CLUB-HIPHOP_LXC1, CLUB-HIPHOP_LXC2 etc depending on how many tracks were in the original list.

If its a smartcrate, it can be duplicated converted to regular crate. The original if compatible can still be synced as well as a smartcrate.

How will this feature help you and others?

Efficiency

Is this feature available in an existing product? If so, what product?

No

Does a workaround currently exist?

I modify my playlists in rekordbox eg if its a smartcrate i modify the parameters a bit eg use only tracks froma certain year, but this implies i leave some bangers behind

This is a CDJ limitation and not something that I can solve in a nice way, splitting playlists is a problem waiting to happen later. So my suggestion is to create a new workflow to have shorter playlists…

I thought direct CDJ export support was planned for LXC?

Have you ditched the idea?

If it’s still planned then this limitation of CDJs will surely raise its head.

No it’s not planned but I mean that playlists being limited to 1000 is a limitation on CDJs

And thinking about if/when Lexicon would be able to do that… It would still have the same limit and I don’t think I would have Lexicon solve it
