Dynamic beat grid analysis and beat shift correction for lossless files and vinyl rips to account for tempo changes and fluctuations

What is the feature or ability you would like to have?
Please explain your feature request. Add an image/screenshot if it makes sense to clarify things.

I’d like to propose two interrelated features aimed at improving beat grid accuracy, especially for tracks with variable tempos.

The first is akin to what many DJ software apps call “dynamic analysis.” This involves advanced beat grid analysis that adapts to tempo fluctuations—whether minor, unintentional changes, or intentional significant shifts during breakdowns and outros. For example, older tracks or '90s trance and techno may have gradual tempo drops (e.g., from 145 BPM down to 70 BPM during a breakdown) or tempo increases (e.g., from 150 BPM up to 200 BPM near the end). Currently, Lexicon struggles with these variations, causing the beat grid to drift out of sync and requiring manual correction, which is tedious when managing large collections.

The other part is to adapt the beat shift fixer to also work for lossless files such as WAV or AIFF, to correct the beat shift that occurs commonly from vinyl to digital rips, which causes the beat grid to drift out of sync and also requires manual correction.

How will this feature help you and others?
Please explain how this helps you and other users. Keep in mind that feature requests that are too specific may not be added.

This will help both myself and others that play either music that may not be electronic and that had a live drummer, so the tempo isn’t fixed and unintentionally changes throughout tracks (This would be very common in styles like older disco and rap/hip-hop, and rock/metal that had a live drummer doing the rhythms); or would also help immensely for electronic tracks that either have intentional and drastic tempo changes during breakdowns or outros which was quite common in many older '90s tracks, as well as vinyl rips or older tracks from the '90s that either have unintentional beat shift issues (this occurs with most vinyl rips, and many older tracks are not available digitally due to labels or artists no longer being active, so vinyl rips are the only option to play them digitally). Having the option of “dynamic analysis” or using the beat shift fixer for lossless files for many of us that play WAV or AIFF to assist in having correct beat grid analysis for tracks that have either unintentional constant tempo fluctuations or intentional drastic tempo changes would be extremely helpful so that manual correction using beat markers and scrolling through hundreds of tracks checking the beat markers isn’t required very often or at all.

Is this feature available in an existing product? If so, what product?
Please let us know if this feature already exists in any other software. This is helpful to understand the problem and perhaps come to an even better solution.

I know that Rekordbox has had the ability to analyze different types of tempo changes for some time, both constant minor fluctuations or intentional and drastic changes in tempo, which is why I have been using the term “dynamic analysis” because this is what it is called in the Rekordbox software. I know Traktor introduced very accurate analysis for any type of tempo changes in Traktor 4 Pro, and Engine also has beat grid analysis that works for dynamic tempo changes. I am not sure if Serato or other types of software have this feature as I have not used other software, but it is very likely they do as dynamic analysis is common in DJ software.

Does a workaround currently exist?
Please explain how you currently deal with the problem.

Not really. Currently, the only way to deal with this issue is manual correction by scrolling through the waveform, finding beat grid markers that are incorrect, and adding your own which can be extremely tedious when you have a large collection or play genres outside of electronic music where standard analysis does not create accurate beat grids. After spending hours yesterday scrolling through waveforms in Lexicon adding beat markers manually, I decided to request these features because it is a not a very good workaround and is extremely time consuming and tedious.
The only other potential type of workaround I can think of is analyzing everything in Rekordbox or Traktor Pro 4 then bouncing the tracks from these programs into Lexicon and avoiding all analysis in Lexicon. However, a lot of people may not use Rekordbox or Traktor Pro 4 so that is not an option, or Rekordbox users know how notorious that software is for incorrect beat grid analysis, both standard and dynamic, so, this isn’t a great workaround at all.

The current workaround is to use a DJ app of your choice to analyze and import only the grids: How to import only beatgrids from a DJ app?

As for the idea itself, it would be great to have but it’s a technical challenge to be done well. So not sure it would happen any time soon because I don’t have the knowledge for that currently.
