Engine DJ: file may be corrupt or format is unsupported

actually this is a big issue for me. I can’t afford the pro plan and relying on iCloud gave me piece of mind if my laptop got stolen (with some 5000+ tracks).

what I don’t get is, that engine and lexicon can handle the path well. if I add those tracks directly to lexicon or engine it works as intended. only the sync from lexicon to engine makes it fail.

Yeah I agree it’s very odd and I don’t understand it either but it’s definitely because of some magic that iCloud is doing

Maybe you can use Time Machine for regular backups and let it save to icloud? So music on internal drive.

I don’t have a proper solution for you right now because I can’t actually see what is going on  It’s a bit puzzling

Is there any other file which alters the database somehow? which is not touched by lexicon sync, but touched when engine itself builds the database? would explain why it works for engine standalone use. there has to be something…

The only other files are next to the m.db file (the other .db files, ignore the shm and wal files, they are temporary). But as far as I know the other files are used for importing tracks directly from Rekordbox/Serato and for streaming tracks like Beatport

I can look into iCloud and Lexicon and how they work together but I don’t know if that will result in a solution… And I can’t add any fix for it right now because I’m about to do a new stable Lexicon release so whatever fix I add will be in the next beta version

Just looked into it, icloud tracks load fine in Lexicon. Tracks not loading earlier was an unrelated development bug for me. I synced to Engine and the track plays in Engine too.

So I don’t think this is a Lexicon bug but something really weird that your iCloud is doing.

Did you try restarting? Or maybe even reinstall the mac…

Hey Christiaan, solved the problem. Lexicon was right all along, a stupid user just didn’t set the restrictions for iCloud and engine dj correctly.

i am so sorry that I wasted your time, don’t know how this happened… - nonetheless thank you for your kind support!
