Changed Mac to new one, imported lexicon backup flawlessly. Now having troubles getting engine Dj (4.0.0) to work. Every track and playlist are showing up, but loading/analyzing them is not possible (see picture). Right-clicking and showing in finder finds the file.
Already deleted the engine database, created a new one, did a fresh sync.
Can you make a screenshot of the full path of that track? I’m thinking maybe it’s an accent issue or some odd character.
This applies to every track
Seems like an iCloud issue, maybe the files aren’t on your mac when playing?
Seems like something that happens more often: on Google
They are all downloaded, did not set the “Mac space optimizing” on. On my old Mac this worked without a problem.
Interestingly, when I drag and drop the tracks directly into engine dj, it works fine…
… and syncing from lexicon directly to sc6000 works also fine. (but I don’t want to do that because the sc6000 will take some time to load a waveform after loading)
I’m not sure, I don’t know how icloud works exactly but I don’t think this is a Lexicon issue. If the file is there and complete, it should be playable.
Sync to rekordbox works fine, which makes me wondering…
Hmm well Lexicon only stores the path of the file so when you try to play it, that’s when it actually accesses the file for the audio. Not really sure what can go wrong there on Lexicon’s side, so I think it’s something Mac or iCloud does.
You could try copying a file and adding it to Lexicon, see if that plays.
Sorry, for coming back late, had no time to pursue this issue further. fact is problem is still current. the tracks are playable in lexicon. no problems with the path to iCloud.
they do play as well when I import them directly into engine dj - also no problem with the path here as well.
the problem only occurs after syncing lexicon to engine. strangely enough: the show in finder feature in engine and lexicon work as well. from my point of view no problems with the paths…

here is a video with the steps described
Is this a normal drive or some kind of special (network) drive? I know that Engine is unable to play from network drives
no, this is the ssd of my Mac! As shown in the video importing the track directly from this path leads to no issues inside engine, only if I take the “detour” via lexicon.
I’d have to check the Engine database and see what the difference is between those 2 tracks then. Can you upload it? It’s this file (assuming we’re talking about your internal SSD): Music/Engine Library/Database2/m.db
Make sure both a working and non-working track from that SSD is in there and let me know both of those filename so I can check that.
will do so! check both versions of the “jesu bleibet meine Freude” as example
finished the upload!
I don’t really know what is happening with iCloud. I tried to reproduce it here but I can’t add tracks that are on iCloud to Lexicon it at all, it’s like it never loads the tracks even though they should be on disk.
Can you try without iCloud?
I don’t see any noticable difference between your working and non-working track in the Engine database btw, which is odd
tested it with an offline folder - now it works as it should.
but far from what I need and what I was used to. every track I own lies in one big iCloud folder. this worked always without a problem. this is my backup strategy and It worked fine until I moved to my new Mac.
