Engine DJ not finding Serato Crates After Lexicon

Okay, the cues are there but appears Lexicon does not see them. Probably has to do with the AIFF format. I’ll make sure they are properly read in the next update

Amazing thank you!!!

Did some tests and Lexicon already supports AIFF, but your AIFF file has ID3v2.2 tags, which are very old and obsolete.

I recommend upgrading your ID3 tags to version 2.3 or 2.4. Then Lexicon will be able to read them. You can use mp3tag to upgrade them

Huh. Thanks. Is that a Beatport thing? This track was just released and I downloaded direct on Beatport. Should I use a different file format in Beatport? My whole library is basically aiff from Beatport! Thanks again!

Okay odd, I’m not sure how that works in Beatport internally, maybe they use old ID3 tags for AIFF files.

I’ll see if I can auto update ID3 v2.2 tags to v2.4, might be possible.

Using MP3 would be best for compatibility, although it’s not lossless.

Howdy. Do you think future updates will be able to address? Thanks so much!!

I briefly looked into it but I don’t think there is an easy way to support ID3 v2.2 because it is so old.
It’s better to download MP3 @ 320kbps from Beatport, they will always work. Or if lossless is very important to you, then you could download AIFF and upgrade the tags using mp3tag.

Got it thanks! I’ll need to do a listening test then. Would save some memory! Just have a bit of an audiophile bias I need to let go of……

Personally I prefer mp3 (but always at 320kbps) because you can be sure it works anywhere, never any problems. Audio quality is great and I never play my DJ music on a soundset where you can hear the difference anyway. Of course, you might play on such sets but that is pretty high end. And I personally doubt you can really hear it in a party setting where people are talking/shouting/etc. It’s subjective of course, lots of different opinions here

Makes sense! Thanks.
