So I had a lot of files in FLAC format that i wanted to change to MP3 in order to use in rekordboks. I followed this guide
And everything seemed to work fine but I failed to notice that when i used “find missing tracks” the program took the “new files” from the files i had stored elsewhere on my hard drive and not from the folder i had selected.
Not sure how that happened.
But then i first removed those old file from that drive and tried again “find missing files”, nothing. then deleted all folders from lexicon and reimported, find missing… Nothing!
here is what it looks like now.
When i did “find missing files” the program indicated it had found files but still the same as the screenshot.
log indicates that the files were skipped as it already exists in database.
This is fairly frusterating after already paying 2 months for the service, I can dj without cues but it would be nice.
Thinking i should just cut my losses and use DJCU again.
I’m not sure about the steps that happened but since you changed extension, you need to use Find Lost Tracks to fix it. The other bulk method may work too but it depends on the situation. Try this:
Select all your tracks, right click, edit, recipes, Change file extension
Change it to mp3 since your files are mp3 now
Select all files, right click, Relocate and point to your main music folder
Thanks for the reply Christiaan.
Unfortunately none of those steps worked.
Sorry about the hopelessness of my first post, it was done in haste and panic.
What i believe was done (i fail to remember as it was done a month ago and I have been traveling) was that I or the program left it open for the files to be relocated from another folder(s) on the same drive. I have all my music files in playlist folders as well as in a “library” folder on the same drive (I choose to have whole albums on hand instead of just tracks in case I want to listen to that specefic album).
What I did was, because i synced my Lexicon library with Serato after i first thought I had changed files, my Serato crates were still intact. So I just had to import a chosen crate to my hard drive, create a new crate in Serato, add the converted files to the folder, and do the steps over again in lexicon.
much more laborious of course but it is doing the trick.
But back to when I was in it, Lexicon confirmed that a given amount of tracks were located, but failed to materialize back in my library, even when i had put in the correct source and destination. My log showed that a number of tracks were skipped.
Pretty confused about all this but I will try again and see if I can get the whole thing sorted out… when i find the time!
