FEATURE ENHANCEMENT: Potential Adds to the Charts Section

Hey Christiaan,

I hope this message finds you well. I’m writing to express my appreciation for the Lexicon Charts feature – it’s truly one of my favorite aspects of the platform, and I’m constantly impressed with its functionality. Lexicon has quickly become an essential tool for me!

That said, I’d like to suggest a couple of enhancements that I believe would add even more value:

TikTok Trending Songs: Adding a section to highlight trending songs from TikTok would be incredibly helpful for staying ahead of the curve and connecting with current music trends.

More Billboard Categories: It would be fantastic to see additional Billboard categories such as “Rap,” “Afrobeats,” and “Airplay” added to the charts. These genres are growing in popularity, and including them would provide even more insight into what’s resonating with diverse clientele.

Please consider these additions for future updates, and thank you again for making such an outstanding product with Lexicon!

Thanks,
JOE!

Hi Joe,

Tiktok is a weird thing and I’ve seen a few charts that I considered adding but there is always a lot of clutter and non-music in there. So I didn’t feel like it would be a good fit in Lexicon yet.

I can look into Rap and Afrobeats but what do you mean with Airplay?

Hi Christiaan,

Thank you for your response and for always considering ways to make life easier for DJs like us!

When I mentioned “Airplay,” I was referring to Billboard’s radio airplay charts, which track the most played songs across different genres on the radio. For example, Billboard has “Pop Airplay” (Pop Airplay) and “Country Airplay” (Country Airplay), among others. These charts reflect what’s trending on radio stations, and I believe adding them to Lexicon, along with other genres like Rap, Pop, EDM, etc., would be incredibly valuable for DJs who want to stay on top of what’s popular across different formats.

I completely understand the concerns about TikTok charts being cluttered with non-music content, so I appreciate you taking a thoughtful approach there. That said, I’d be thrilled to see more genre-specific charts like Rap, Afrobeats, Pop, EDM, etc… added to Lexicon, along with these airplay categories. I’m sure many other users would find them just as helpful.

Thanks again for your dedication to improving Lexicon!

Best regards,
JOE

I will look into all of that, thanks for the suggestion!

Hey Christiaan.
Any chance we’ll see any upgrades here anytime soon?

Looking into it one of these days!

Billboard has a tiktok chart so I can add that.

But for airplay, I don’t really understand how it works. I don’t see any mention of Airplay on the billboard website itself, so how do people find it? And the link for pop airplay contains /pop-songs/ so that tells me it’s probably just a pop list. Is it any different from a pop top 50? Or even the hot 100?

What is the difference between the Country Airplay list and the Country Hot list? Just wondering why we need 2 country lists from Billboard

Hey Christiaan. Let me see if I can help answer your questions (I think lol).
Ok so apparently Billboard Airplay is “Googleable” and the way it works is that Billboard magazine publishes a top 40-song chart that ranks the most popular songs for that genre being played a panel of Top 40 radio stations in the United States. This is apparently true for all genes.

Also Christiaan, you are The Man!!!
You listen to your customers and always look to make our Lexicon experience ELITE! Thank you for the new updates and considering our suggestions. I’m TEAM LEXICON FOR LIFE!!! Thanks again bro!!!

No problem

About airplay, I’m not sure what the real added value there is since there are already hot charts for the same genres so I think it’s probably fine like it is now

Works for me and thanks again for applying these add-ons.
