How to change all file locations at once?

I’m using Dropbox to mirror my libraries across multiple computers. By mistake I’ve ended up with duplicates because “/Volumes/Macintosh HD/Users/username/Dropbox/Serato/” and “/Dropbox/Serato” are both in my library due to importing files the wrong way. Those are exactly the same folder, but my library should only have the “/Dropbox/Serato” because that’s the folder that holds the files on any of my mirrored computers.

There are lots of subfolders, but can I find and replace to edit all the filenames at once to replace the first location with the second for all songs in my library?

You can use the Find Lost Tracks utility and put in something like

/Volumes/Macintosh HD/Users/username/Dropbox/Serato/

and

/Dropbox/Serato/

You’ll see preview locations so check if they are correct before applying

Does that also work if the tracks aren’t lost?

I got it! It wasn’t working for me until I used Force Relocate. Otherwise it wouldn’t let me “copy” a file to a library location that already existed.
