I have the issue a lot that djay pro analyses a track which I carefully prepared in LXC when loading it into the player. This destroys the key, beatgrid and BPM synced from LXC and makes this integration close to useless. How can I prevent that from happening? I couldn’t find an option in neither LXC nor djay pro.
First time I’m hearing this
Are you on mac or Windows?
And what settings did you use on the Sync screen?
I’m on Mac. I did a simple test to verify the behaviour with the latest LXC beta:
- Re-installed djay pro from the app store
- Deleted my current djay pro library in
~/Music/djaybefore starting djay pro - Started djay pro to add my library folder as a search path then quit
- Created new playlist with one track in LXC
- Increased the BPM of the track by 25% (128 → 160)
- Changed the key from a major to minor key
- Syced this playlist to djay pro (“Don’t touch my grids” and “Complete re-index” are off but these settings don’t seem to have an influence on this)
- Opened djay pro
- The track is displayed in the library with the correct BPM and key
- Load the track
Now, the BPM is changed to what djay pro detects (128). One more observation I made is, that when I simply double the BPM while changing the grid off beat, djay pro will still overwrite the BPM with what it detects but the off-beat grid is preserved.
Edit: I found something related in the Algoriddim forums.
I also seem to have this problem. I recently noticed that some tracks in djay pro constantly get doubled in RPM vs what was correctly set in lexicon. This happens because djay reanalyses them after the sync (sometimes incorrectly).
