Lexicon (free) - keys always change into open notation

Please fill in this bug report template:

Lexicon version: 1.6.16
Operating system (remove one): Windows 10 64 bit
Bug description: Keys are not preserved, whatever setting I use. I use musical keys in Rekordbox, but whatever setting (original, custom, musical, open), it always keeps changing them into open key notation which i do not want.

Step by step to reproduce:
sync, rekordbox 5/6, full, convert keys (any selection gives the same result - open key notation!)

What is your Key Format setting in the Lexicon settings? Change it to Original Key there

as i wrote above, i tried importing with all settings (original, custom, musical, open), the result is the same (=open key) whichever setting I use.

is this because my version is demo?

No, demo version is not limited there.

The import does not have a Key setting so I think you are referring to the Sync setting for the Key, which only happens when you sync (=export) to a DJ app.

The default format to display in Lexicon is Open Key, so I think your setting is just on Open Key. Check the Lexicon settings (top menu bar).

Ah right, now I get it.

Its confusing since you only get to the Import window through the Sync window.

That’s because if you use Lexicon as your main library manager, you only import once or very rarely so that’s why it’s not a main button in the sidebar

I see, thank you.

I have just purchased a subscription so I can merge my libraries in their entirety.

What I noticed is that it didn’t seem to save my custom Rekordbox tags? I’m referring to this:

Where can I find this data in Lexicon?

Best

In Lexicon they are Custom Tags, you can show the Custom Tags column for that or press T to edit them.

You can manage Custom Tags in the screen with the same name, from the sidebar

Yes I saw that, but none of my 13000 tracks have custom tags set in Lexicon.

Here is an example of an intelligent playlist in Rekordbox made on the criteria that all the tracks have their BEI custom tag on.

And here are the screenshots from Lexicon showing that none of my tags are imported:

Cant show you here the column for 13000 trax  but trust me its empty for all:

I have uploaded the logs and database via the app so you can take a look.

Thanks!

I don’t see any of your MyTags as Custom Tags in Lexicon  Did you do a Full Import?

Yes, thats exactly what Im trying to say.

I did a full import, and then a merge with another xml also as a full import. And the custom tags are not there.

Oh, both imports are from XML?
XML doesn’t support MyTags and Smartlists, so they aren’t in there.

For RB6 and 7 you can do a direct import, it reads the RB database and supports everything

yes, both were from XML.

what about “matching” tracks info? Does it preserve it when imported from xml, and then exported back to the xml?

No that info is not in the XML either. It will stay in RB so importing from the XML later will keep the matches, but they won’t be in Lexicon or the XML.

thank you
