Intel Mac running the latest VDJ beta along with the most recent Lexicon beta.
My library consists of several smartlists and a few playlists. I also have a folder that has several smartlists that I have labeled as excluded from sync. I then sync the library to VDJ. If I select all the lists in Lexicon that were synced, the counter at the bottom right shows 6292 tracks…but once the sync completes, I add each of the synced playlists to the VDJ SearchDb, it shows only 5280 tracks.
Is this a function of the way tracks are counted? Am I missing a step somewhere? Or do I just have a misplaced expectation of how it works?
(Side note - I never paid attention to see if this also happened on the stable VDJ release)
Does the 6292 include the excluded from sync tracks? Isn’t that the mismatch maybe?
No. With the excluded from sync stuff, the total number is 6714. But your question just stirred up a thought. Could the difference between the 6292 and the 5280 be tracks that reside in multiple smartlists being simply being counted as 1 track in VDJ? I mean technically, it’s the same file on the computer…just residing in multiple lists.
I’m not sure but I do know VDJ has a search database that often has old entries in it so I wouldn’t trust the count it shows. Go through a few random playlists and confirm the track count is both the same, that can tell you more
Gotcha…As my recent posts show, that VDJ search db has been a source of frustration the last few weeks. Thanks again.
