The idea is a location local to the user that they dump songs that won’t be in the watch folder. The “Local Record Pool” location will be searched but not added to the DB. If you do pick a song then it will be added / copied to the import section / folder.
I have a network folder that I dump songs into which has more space than what I have on my local drive.
Also, since it won’t be in the DB then I wouldn’t see missing files when the location isn’t available. The search will check if the location is available when doing a search but will skip if its not.
Yeah this is a fun idea, although I wouldn’t put it under the record pools page. It’s kind of the same as the watch folder + incoming page, just temporary tracks that aren’t automatically added to Lexicon
I have access to a pool that allows FTP access so I just download a lot and listen later to save to. hmmm this might be a stretch but could Lexicon connect to the FTP servers with my creds and search there also? Might be too taxing.
Not sure it would work too well because FTP is kind of slow.
Both maybe ideas for later, as some kind of external connection to places you get your music from. Could be great way to handle different kind of connections, all in the same way.
