Playlist Indexing, Comparison, and Mixability Tools

What is the feature or ability you would like to have?

I’d love to see three playlist-related features added to Lexicon:

  1. Playlist index view
A simple column that shows where a track sits inside a playlist (for example: “12 of 85”), instead of relying on the album’s metadata track number.
  2. Playlist comparison tool
Something that lets us compare two or more playlists and instantly see what overlaps or what’s unique.
  3. Playlist mixability insight
A way to check if two playlists mix well based on BPM, key, and metadata.

How will this feature help you and others?

These would make playlist prep way easier, especially for DJs with big libraries or lots of event crates. It would help with:

• Cleaning up duplicates
• Re-ordering playlists with better context
• Building smoother sets
• Quickly seeing how playlists relate to each other

Overall, this saves a ton of manual checking and guesswork.

Is this feature available in an existing product? If so, what product?

• The playlist index view exists in Serato, Rekordbox, and Engine DJ.
• Some comparison tools exist elsewhere, but nothing as flexible as what Lexicon could do.
• Playlist-to-playlist mixability doesn’t really exist anywhere, so Lexicon could be the first.

Does a workaround currently exist?

Not really.

Right now I manually check BPM/key, export playlists, or visually compare them. It works, but it’s slow and messy for large libraries.

Thank you,
JOE
