Question for Christiaan:
I have a few practical technical questions regarding the beat shift issue.
If I understand correctly, the beat shift issue only occurs with mp3 files because the different decoders (Lame, etc.) don’t all work the same.
If I always convert .wav files to .mp3 using only the same codec (Lame 3.0), will I be spared the problem if I sync different libraries with the same tracks?

Yes if you use Lame 3.100 then it should be fine
