RB7 wipes usb instead of updating/only adding new songs

Hei,

i usually used rb5 and i regret the move from rb5 to rb7 for usb sync.

The problem is, i use serato and manage my library in serato, then i do a full import (without merge-because it wont delete tracks i delete in serato; i think merge just adds the new tracks but does not update hotcues, etc).

So i did this in rb 5 every time and when syncing my usb everything worked just fine. It only added the new tracks/updated the new hotcues.

Now however in RB7, i do the export (slow or fast way-doesnt make any difference) and RB7 starts to delete a bunch of tracks. I dont know why this is happening but it does take ages for RB7 to delete these tracks and add the new one. Especially the library plus export gets me going… what a shit pioneer has done. in order to play opus quad you need a new library register and this has to be exported (not tracks but track infos) in addition to the old ones (cdj3000 and later).

Can Someone help? its a pain. I dont wanna change back to RB5…

Are you using the Sync Manager in RB? That would delete things from your USB too.
You can right click playlists in RB and export to USB, that does not delete anything

sorry for the late reply, in rb 5 i used sync manager or update device library. Did do exactly the same thing.

Another question i have. would it be possible to implement in the import from serato with merge option that it also delets crates which have been deleted in serato since the last sync?

I often delete crates and add new ones but the crates in lexicon add up when using the merge option. so i always have to do the full sync which wipes my whole lexicon library. Maybe thats why rekordbox 7 always wipes my sticks?

No, that’s how merge works… If you want playlists deleted, then you have to use full import

so the slow sync with the xml will be better because it only adds the new added tracks?

Not better, because it is limited to what the XML allows. So no smartlist or MyTag support…
XML is the official way and I only recommend using it when the direct method is having problems, like with RB Cloud Sync.

okay, but i dont understand why RB is deleting 500-1000 Tracks when syncing my USB but i didnt remove Tracks. I add new ones…
USB sync takes ages for 20 new tracks in my lists.
In RB5 it added these in under 5 minutes…

I also noticed that i takes more space on my USB when also exporting library plus.

Is library plus buggi?

I don’t think library plus matters here, it’s just a database file that takes almost no space. It is only relevant if you have an opus quad.

Sync speed in RB has always been notoriously slow. It might be slower since RB6, I don’t know, could very well be.

Did you try right clicking a playlist in RB and then exporting? So not using the Sync Manager

yes, ive tryed. But RB wont give me a chance to do so. i plug in my usb and try to right click onto the device and it immediately starts to sync to my usb…

When its only the data base why does it take 40 gb more then usual and why is the library plus track amount 2000 tracks higher?
I dont get it. Never change a running system. i should have stayed to my licensed RB5 version …

Check if this option is enabled, it should be disabled when using the sync manager

im so sorry,

i dont know why but rb7 didnt use the settings from rb5 where i disabled this.

Thanks for the patience!!

All the best
