"Set Active Loop" for automatically activating loops

What is the feature or ability you would like to have?
Create loops that automatically activate when the play head reaches the start of that stored loop.

How will this feature help you and others?
This creates a “fallback” loop at the end of track, preventing the track from ending before you might be ready to mix out.

Is this feature available in an existing product? If so, what product?
This is available in Rekordbox. It works by first storing a loop into memory, then clicking on the small :repeat: icon to activate “Set Active Loop”. When playing this track out the loop will automatically turn on when the play head gets to the start of that stored cue/loop.

There might be a similar feature available in other software that I don’t know about.

Does a workaround currently exist?
Importing cues from and back to Rekordbox will retain this setting, but it’s not currently possible to change it or add new ones from Lexicon.

This is related to my question in this thread.

Edited to follow the feature request template

Thanks!

Active loops is a bit of a thing… I want them in Lexicon for sure but only RB and Engine really support true active loops currently. I don’t want to add features in Lexicon that aren’t for most users.

Traktor has semi-active loops, need to be manually activated in advance during the track.

VDJ has active loops with a hotkey workaround.

Serato doesn’t have it at all.

Once Serato has it (no idea if/when), then Lexicon will get it immediately.
