Hello
Migrated my library from old laptop to new laptop. Got it working in Lexicon (all music is playing and all playlists are showing).
Library size is about 6000 tracks. About 15% AIFF files and most of the rest are 320 mp3’s.
When doing a complete library sync from the new lexicon library on the new pc to my virgin engine library, the screen is stuck on initializing sync.
Working on a brand new top notch laptop after doing all windows updates and restarting several times.
Latest verions of Lexicon AND engine DJ are running.
Can you upload your Lexicon database & logs? From the Help menu.

PS: I let it run all night last night but was still stuck at the same Point
This may be related to the latest windows 11 update, I have to investigate that. Will do so asap and bring out an update if I find the problem.

Dear Christiaan
Thanks. Your fast response time and eagerness to help inidividual clients is what made me take up a new membership with Lexicon as I want to massively improve our library managment and Engine lacks the necessary tools.
Hoping for a solution.
Not sure what the problem is, I don’t think it’s win 11. I’m adding some extra logging to the next update so hopefully that tells us more.
What you could try meanwhile is open a powershell console and run this command: Get-CimInstance Win32_LogicalDisk | ConvertTo-Json
Does it error or give you a big list of information?
I succeeeded now. Apparently it was some safety rules for outgoing connections I had to admit on this new laptop specifically for Lexicon;
Current problem I am experiencing is every time I work on the library in Lexicon and sync to Engine Dj, the engine Library is doubled and contains the same tracks twice.
Original library is about 6000 tracks and after syncing from Lexicon, it is about 12 000 with all tracks appearing twice…
PS: I think the problem arises when I connect an external SSD containing an engine collection.
After doing this, syncing is not possible any more once again. I also notice that there is no ‘target drive’ selectable when syncing…
Will do the powershell ASAP
I annexed the powershell results
Powershell Christiaan.txt (22.8 KB)
When you use the Target Drive option, Lexicon copies files there and there’s no link to the Engine desktop database (since Lexicon did it). So when you plug in your USB (made with the Target Drive option), it will show doubled tracks.
So conclusion is to not connect your target drive when starting Engine desktop. Or sync to Engine desktop and then use Engine desktop to create your USB.
I have to admit I have no clue what you mean here.
My music is all an an internal drive at this time. I always export from Engine DJ to usb sticks or to my Denon Prime 4+'s internal drive.
Problem where I’m stuck at initializing sync is there once again even though it was temporarily solved.
Is nothing else possible with regards to looking into this problem?
No drive selectable, even though I have a working Engne DJ Database on the C drive and Engine DJ is working …
Engine DJ desktop option should always be in there
And if the earlier error was fixed with the policy change, it should not get stuck there anymore. The output you gave in the txt file is normal
Did the policy change back maybe?
There is no option in target drive. When I click it nothing happens… When I click refrish nothing happens either.
I think it was fixed because I had an external SSD attached at that time.
It was probably syncing to that one.
But my collection, music folder, databases are all in C drive, so I do not understand.
PS: sync with rekordbox does work but all tracks are analysed again by Rekordbox.
The reason the dropdown is empty is because the powershell command errors so the options aren’t filled. You fixed it before, but not permanently?
I don’t know whether I fixed this. I presume this was because an external drive was connected. Besides that, I have no ideas on how to fix this.
I have no IT background unfortunately, which is why I use programs like Lexicon.
Would not using Engine as long as there is no solution and using Lexicon to write to my Denon Prime 4’s internal SSD work?
