Synced a M3U to Rekordbox and Lexicon deleted all of my custom tags

Honestly I’m not going to spend any more time on this, filling out a template or anything, I’m just going to vent here.

The only reason I wanted to try Lexicon was to import ~600 tracks in order to my Rekordbox. Well, surprise now all My Tags are gone with some stupid locked ones from Lexicon. I will now be spending the next 30 minutes reconstructing and re-tagging all of my tracks from my backup. No way in hell I would pay $10 per month btw, maybe $10 per year

If you want to merge your RB with a M3U you do need to import from RB first otherwise it’s not going to know about any of that

Yep, sorry if I came off pretty abrasive, it was very frustrating but I appreciate that RB might have some competition. I’m writing my own utility for importing / re-sorting stuff using pyrekordbox and Cursor, but haven’t found a way to fix or completely clean out my cloud metadata. Every device I connect or reconnect is downloading these additional tag categories (interestingly, they were added fine, but I can’t seem to remove them).

Especially on the free / locked version, it would be great to make sure those locked categories aren’t being synced (I can’t delete those categories in Lexicon to see if that + sync will correctly remove them). I may have corrupted my own DB by purging old ‘tombstone’ database rows, but who knows.

Only RB support can delete the cloud data. It happens sometimes that someone wants it gone/reset but you need to contact them.
