As the title said when I use the “unused track finder” it shows me over 15k tracks that are supposedly not im my serato library. However when I check them they are all in the library and the file path / file location is the same that is shown in the Lexicon list of unused tracks. What am I doing wrong here? Or is this a known issue?
Can you share a screenshot of the results that shows the full track location? And a screenshot of the same track in your Lexicon?
I assume you imported your Serato into Lexicon
I did a screen recording of the process:
hope this helps. I really have no idea why it would show all those tracks as unused.
It checks the Lexicon library with the results, so it means that anything in that list is not in your Lexicon.
Can you make a screenshot of a Lexicon track’s location that is in that list? Right click a track → Edit to see the full location.
There is a difference there, the Find Unused Files shows dropbox files
Yeah now I see that too. The thing is store my music and serato playlists in dropbox and use a symolic linker to “trick” serato to think that my files are in HD/Users/UserXY/Music - The reason behind that is that with this method I can mirror my serato on two different macbooks. There are no files in the actual “Music” folder.
I don’t think there is any solution with my problem then? Lexicon somehow doesn’t fall for the symbolic link and thinks that all the files in dropbox are NOT in my serato right?
Use hard links instead of symlinks, Lexicon can’t tell the difference.
Otherwise, don’t use the utility Lexicon can’t check every file if it’s a symlink and follow it
