I’ve noticed that when importing from RekordBox 7.x, duplicates in playlists are automatically removed. More specifically, if a track appears more than once in the same playlist, all duplicates are deleted, leaving only one (1) entry.
I’ve also seen this mentioned in a thread regarding Traktor, and at that time there was no solution available. I wasn’t aware that the same issue applied to RekordBox as well. Without going into too much detail here, I have several reasons and use cases where keeping duplicates in a playlist is actually helpful. Among other things, it breaks history files and playlists where duplicates are intentionally kept.
Therefore, I would really appreciate hearing whether there have been any updates or changes planned regarding this — or, if there’s an option to prevent it, I’d be grateful to know how.
Otherwise, I’ll submit a more detailed suggestion to address this behaviour under “Ideas & Feature Requests,” unless Christiaan has another explanation for why this isn’t included.
